Downtown Magazine Debuts
You may have seen it in your mailbox or picked up a copy at a downtown shop, the inaugural issue of Downtown ~ Local Shops, Local Stories hit town early this month. The magazine, a quarterly DBI publication, features downtown businesses and the stories of the people and places that make it unique. Get the publication and read more about it below!
DMC Opening Recruitment
The Downtown Management Commission has a special recruitment open for a female property owner/representative seat. Applications are due May 9th. If you are interested, please contact Molly Winter at winterm@bouldercolorado.gov
Pick Up and Play at Mapleton Elementary
On May 4th, Mapleton Elementary School will be holding a clean-up event around the schoolyard from 9 to 11am. Water and popsicles will be provided. If any downtown businesses would like to be involved with the local community and this event, please contact Kelly at 303-473-9210.
Walk and Bike Month Bingo
Community Cycles, coordinators of GO Boulder’s Walk & Bike Month activities, is seeking local merchants for a popular game called BINGO. Merchants who sign up will be featured on more than 1,500 BINGO cards to be handed out to local consumers.
Merchants will receive an attractive poster to display in their window and recognition in Walk & Bike Month advertisements. There is no cost to businesses to participate. Contact Sue Prant, bikesue@gmail.com, for more info by April 14.
Boulder Creek Month and Boulder Flycasters
Thanks to the efforts of new DBI member Boulder Flycasters, May was proclaimed Boulder Creek Watershed Awareness Month by the City Council. Boulder Flycasters is raising money so they can complete their projects up Middle Boulder Creek and with Rodgers Park. To help in fundraising, they are offering a beautiful poster designed by Chas Pettrone which will be available at www.boulderflycasters.org.
Best People Watching Results
For the new Downtown Magazine we asked for your favorite places to people watch downtown. Over 470 of you replied and the top vote getters were: The Courthouse Lawn, Bookend Cafe, The Library/Boulder Creek, and Boulder Cafe. Thank you to all who participated and congratulations to survey participant Jori Zimmerman, our $50 Gift Card winner.
Broncos & Rockies Rides now free with Eco Pass
Employees with an Eco Pass can now ride the special service buses including the Rockies Ride and Broncos Ride without paying an extra fare. Remember that all downtown full-time employees (within CAGID and DBBID boundaries) are eligible for an Eco Pass. For more information, employers can call Lane Landrith at 303-413-7316.

Downtown Boulder recently launched the magazine Downtown ~ Local Shops, Local Stories. The publication highlights the energy, vibrancy and exceptional nature of the community's heart. Downtown is the place to buy from Boulderites and we hope our magazine introduces you to some of the people, places, and stories that occur only in our bit of Boulder.
